It would be an understatement to say I have shot a lot of smaller intimate weddings over the last 15 years, and it looks like this may be the new normal. With social distancing and gathering restrictions, for those couples who still want to host a wedding ceremony, things are going to look a little different this year from the traditional wedding day.
I personally love the intimacy of smaller weddings; you get to have quality conversations with each of your guests, maybe have a photo with each of them to send in a thank you card, and it's less stress through the planning process as there are less elements to juggle.
A venue that I have always shot smaller weddings at is The Keg Manor, on Richmond Road in Ottawa. Along with an indoor space for dinner, there is a patio where I've photographed a few ceremonies, and the gardens directly next door (pictured below) also make for a stunning ceremony or just portrait location.
With stunning architecture inside and out, minimal decor is required to personalize the space. Oh and the food is delicious!
This was our 2 hour elopement package. When everything is in the same spot, 2 hours can provide a lot of photography coverage.
Venue: The Keg Manor
Ceremony: Maple Lawn Gardens
