What's even more exciting and challenging than a 2 day Indian wedding? A 3 day power outage during those 2 days of coverage!
As far as Indian weddings go, this one was a breeze: outdoors, amazing people, and well planned out. As far as tornados the day before the event; that was a different story.
Both days were absolutely amazing. There is something so special about being there for more than one of the wedding events. You develop inside jokes with the bridal party, the parents of the bride look forward to seeing you again the next day and posing for your camera.
When I met Suhana and Kyle I thought they were the greatest; my ideal client in every way - they valued photography, they wanted artistic coverage and they trusted me to capture it without ever questioning the process (most couples don't say anything when I'm wearing a tree around the lens but I was just super excited to get out there and start shooting)
And then the big day rolls around and I have no power at the studio. My favourite thing to do when I get home from a wedding is lug my camera bag up to the office to download the images. When you can't turn on your computer, or recharge your batteries... that causes a little more anxiety.
Luckily I did get my power back about 2 hours before I was supposed to leave for part 2 so I got to back up the files and take the spare charged camera batteries out.
Moral of the story, you can't even be too prepared.
