This is a special story for me!
We've all heard of photographers stealthily hiding in bushes to capture an engagement proposal, but what about your friend and fellow photographer stealthily hiding at Play right below the studio surprising you with their engagement?! Ok, so it turns out Kate was more surprised about the engagement than I was but I was still lucky enough to be walking back to the studio when she texted
"Are you in studio, I have a photo need emergency" followed by "or downtown? I neeeeed you!"
A series of events lead up to me actually being downtown past 3pm for this special moment, including but not limited to, a couples session being postponed twice due to weather and the fact that we finally got to shoot that couple for their sunset shoot and all of the area behind Parliament was blocked off. Scrambling for the river view, we walked super far away from where I had parked when strolling back to the parking lot I got Kate's texts.
I don't normally get to hear the complete story moments after it happened but she described, adorably, how she almost fell off her chair when she saw Robi pull the box out from his coat while they wined and dined at the lovely, Play Restaurant.
Broke a few personal photography records here for latest and shortest session clocking in at just 12 minutes.
So many congratulations to the beautiful couple!
